DC Contactor is a contactor with a core controlled by a DC coil, belonging to the field of physics and applied in the electrical field . Its core, made of mild steel or industrial pure iron, adopts a circular structure due to the absence of eddy currents generated by DC power supply. The coil, powered by DC without starting current impact, features long lifespan and is suitable for frequent start-stop operations. The modular design allows for free combination of contact circuit numbers and normally open/closed forms. The transverse magnetic field arc-extinguishing technology enables a breaking voltage up to 220VDC, allowing control of DC or AC loads. It is suitable for uninterruptible power supplies, electric vehicles, and engineering machinery systems.
When selecting, the rated voltage of the main contact should not be lower than the load voltage, and the rated current should be calculated according to the motor power formula. For frequent start-stop operations, it is necessary to use a downgraded model. If the operating frequency exceeds the standard, a model with a larger capacity should be selected. The coil voltage should be chosen based on the complexity of the circuit, such as 380V/220V or 36V/110V, to ensure safety. When selecting a model, comprehensive consideration should be given to the arc-extinguishing capability and the contact layout structure. Medium and large-sized equipment often adopt a single-break planar layout combined with an arc-extinguishing grid design.
